Let’s say that you do that because you need to do it(maybe you have a wide back and that’s it, you can’t cut it), maybe you do it because you like to do it, maybe you do it because you are bored and you want to do something new… it doesn’t matter! The important thing is that you do it!

And it is kinda annoying when you have those grommets in your hand and you don’t know how to put them right. I was searching on the internet A LOT for a simple way to do it, but all those tutorials request a special tool. After all, I found a really simple and easy way such that anyone, anywhere, anytime can do it!

Materials required:

the grommets, a pair of scissors, a lead pencil(please don’t use a marker), a clean piece of solid material(wood, iron), a hammer and a soft tape measure

How to do it:

1.Place the soft tape measure on the material so you can put the grommets symmetrical. If you want to be creative and you want to put them at an unequal distance… do it!

2.Place the grommets to see how they look like and according to your preferences you can reduce them or increase their distance.

3.Using a sharp lead pencil, you need to make the signs (for cutting the material) inside each staple.

4.Remove the grommets and form a small hole with the pair of scissors, in the material, on the sign you have made with the lead pencil. Repeat the process for each sign.

5.Grasp the two parts of the grommets in the place where you formed the hole, place the material on a solid bracket, and gently hit with the hammer a few times to fix the two parts of the grommets. If the metal is getting inside… that’s it, there’s nothing you can do to it to fix it. The ribbon will enter anyway. Repeat the process for each grommet.

6.Insert the ribbon and c’est fini la comédie.

Don’t forget: happiness is in … grommets!
