The first thing you need to worry about when you want to go on a trip is obviously the location! is the only one that sets the tone and offers that “je ne sais quoi” we are all looking for.
For me, that’s the hardest part! Most of the time I’m losing myself on the most beautiful streets, but I know that for some of us, trip means sleep all day and wake up just to eat. And that’s why every time I look for a place that embodies all the charm of the location.
Success is my middle name thanks to booking.com. I enter the location, the period of time and the number of people. I always check off “Only show available properties” and “Excellent location: 9+” from the left menu and “Lowest price first” from the top menu.
The budget is a defining factor and somehow frustrations begin here. I have already set my limit to 28 euros/night, but I can easily to go 34euros/night for something amazing. Budget. Budget. Budget.
For those of you that are wandering right now if it’s possible to find one of the most amazing accommodation at 28euros/night means that you have never read my articles “Vila Retezat | A Dream Come True”, “7-Star Living Conditions at a 2-Star Price | Maria Terezia Residence” and “Palas Apartments | Slice of Heaven”. It’s ok, better later than never. All you have to do is to click on them.
You have unlimited choices. You just need to decide which one is the best one.
For me, is the train. Not because is wonderful to travel with the train in Romania, but because is free. Yes, students have gratuitousness. Yes, I am a student.
For others a pleasure, for me a nightmare. After so many episodes of “Extreme Couponing”, every part of me cries when I have to spend money on food. Just watch one episode and you will understand me perfectly.
Even if I don’t want that, I have to spend some cash! Especially when I travel with a gourmet. And every single time I travel with one. And here I am, with 2 options in my pocket:
-if the place has a kitchen, I’ll go with my hands full of shopping bags from the supermarket and I’ll cook.
-if the place doesn’t have a kitchen, I’ll bring as much snacks as I can in my luggage. For lunch and dinner, I’ll search on Google “Deva Restaurants”, if I am in Deva and I’ll start reading the reviews and looking on the menu. After that I’ll decide where I’ll go. Sounds complicated? Maybe, but eventually I get to the best restaurant in town and most often with a small budget.
After you’ve been dealing with all the basic things, fun can begin! What are you visiting? Or better said, how do you know what to visit?
Google is your new best friend from now on! Google knows every tourist attraction. You just need to ask. If Google doesn’t know the most hidden ones, you will certainly find boards and flyers in the area about everything that exist.
It’s ok if you can’t go to all of them. Is more important to go to the ones you really enjoy being there. A small tip: almost all the time, the ones that I didn’t want to visit, were the ones that impressed me most.
I know, I kinda messed up your decision. Sorry, not sorry.
Now, since you want to go on an adventure, you found the best place to stay, you made the best playlist and you have a list with the most beautiful tourist attraction in your mind, RELAX!
Everything will be more than fine!
